BC Sustainability student club aspires to promote the ideals of sustainability through cross-department, interdisciplinary relationships on campus while building relationships with members of the surrounding community. New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) is New York's largest student-directed organization. Its principal areas of concern include environmental protection, transportation alternatives, and public health.

Every Earth Month, campus sustainability partners will different organizations to bring Earth Day/Sustainability related programs and events. We also provide information for outside conferences, workshops and webinars.

Each year the Hess Scholar-in-Residence program invites a distinguished academic to the campus. The 2020 guest scholar studies, speaks about, writes on culturally based sustainable development strategies, renewable energy, and sustainable food systems. The Robert L. Hess Memorial Lecture was hosted in the Fall.
