A brief description of the institution’s community garden:
The Brooklyn College Garden is a green space on the western edge of the campus where the college and neighboring community come together to learn about sustainable garden practices for urban environments, share gardening experiences, and promote a healthy and active lifestyle, all while fostering a sense of community. Members grow fruit, flowers, herbs, and vegetables in individual and shared plots. The Brooklyn College Garden's aim is to create and nurture a community of novice and experienced gardeners with a strong focus on education. This space is approximately 5,000 square feet, and currently has 28 framed plots, with plans to expand.
