A brief description of the bodies and mechanisms through which students are engaged in governance, including information to support each affirmative response above:
Students elect representatives to the Clarkson University Student Association (CUSA) or Graduate Student Association (GSA). The elected leaders of both of these governance groups attend and present their activities to the Board of Trustees two times per year.

Do the institution’s staff members have a representative body through which they can participate in governance (e.g. a staff council)?:
Yes

Do the institution’s non-supervisory staff members have an elected representative on the institution’s highest governing body?:
No

If yes to either of the above, provide:

A brief description of the bodies and mechanisms through which staff are engaged in governance, including information to support each affirmative response above:
All non-supervisory staff are represented by their managers at the Administrative Council. In addition, elected leaders of the Support Staff council regularly communicate with HR and campus leaders. Hourly staff in the Facilities and Services department are supported though their union.

Do the institution’s teaching and research faculty have a representative body through which they can participate in governance (e.g. a faculty senate)?:
Yes

Do the institution’s teaching and research faculty have an elected representative on the institution’s highest governing body? :
No

A brief description of the bodies and mechanisms through which teaching and research faculty are engaged in governance, including information to support each affirmative response above:
Faculty have the opportunity to vote for representatives to the Faculty Senate. The Chair of the Faculty Senate sits on the President's Cabinet and attends/presents at the Board of Trustees meetings.

The local government in included in decisions and assessment of impacts on all major new or renovation construction projects. Details of the nature of the interactions are included in Chapter 2 of the Clarkson Construction Standards: Design Process and Procedures (attached) p. 5: checklist of all materials shared with the local government. p. 6 - Response to any comments that the Town has on the original materials p. 7 - letters from water and sanitary authorities to documents potential impacts and mitigation of any impacts

Per the requirements of local government, these interactions include presentation at Planning Board meetings, which have required public notice of agenda and open comment period. Local residents are included in the review process through these town and village governance mechanisms.
