Has the institution conducted a survey or other evaluation that allows for anonymous feedback to measure employee satisfaction and engagement during the previous three years?:
Yes
Percentage of employees (staff and faculty) assessed, directly or by representative sample (0-100):
17
A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
The Climate and Engagement Committee is a university group headed by our Chief Diversity and Inclusion officer that oversees these issues. They send out a campus wide survey to faculty, staff, and students. Large, holistic surveys occur every few years and smaller "pulse" surveys in the interim. The latest pulse survey was completed in 2016 it had questions related to inclusion, work-life balance, and how we work with each other (as examples).
A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation (including examples from the previous three years):
Information from this assessment is reviewed by the university climate and engagement committee. The committee is then tasked with developing and carrying out a strategic plan to address issues that are raised. Due to the lowest scores related to work-life balance, there is now a faculty working group to work on ways to rethink teaching loads relative to faculty members research commitments.
