A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the municipal/local level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:
Colorado College is working with the community, including local leaders to create a traffic master plan that facilitates increased safety for pedestrians and cyclists. Colorado College has also worked with Colorado Springs Utilities to increase our portfolio of renewable energy, particularly through the use of solar panels. Moreover, the Sustainability Manager sits on the Water Planning Advisory Group of Colorado Springs Utilities.

Colorado College investigates and advocates for sustainability outcomes and issues unique to Rocky Mountain West through the State of the Rockies Project which seeks to increase public understanding of vital issues affecting the region.

GlobeMed is a student organization that is dedicated to increasing the visibility and awareness of global health issues with the goal of improving health disparities around the world. GlobeMed advocates for issues regarding global health and health policy. GlobeMed is an officially recognized student organization through the Colorado College Student Government Association - the primary governing body for the student constituency at Colorado College. GlobeMed's is an annually funded student organization.
