The CIR is in charge of submitting proxy votes in the interest of voting for socially responsible and environmentally ethical practices of the companies invested in through JW Bristol Holdings. The CIR is also responsible for managing a portfolio of funds to be invested and traded based on sustainable philosophies, the CIR is responsible for overseeing that the investment of these funds aligns with proper social and environmental concerns. This includes investing in companies that implement proper employee treatment practices and transparency as well as preventing investment in companies involved in oil and natural gas industries. The end goal of the CIR is to provide concrete evidence that green investing can provide equitable returns to less socially responsible investment decisions.

Examples of CIR actions during the previous three years:
Colorado College's CIR was implemented in the Spring of 2017. In that time, they have gained access to funds designated for green/ethical investing. They have also drafted bylaws and guidelines for defining "green" and "socially responsible" investing. They hope to be actively investing and making trades by the end of the academic year.

The Investment subcommittee of the Campus Sustainability Council is currently working on creating a committee on investor responsibility. They are working in conjunction with the student investment club in reaching out to alumni and staff/faculty to participate.
