Live Lot Parking App

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Students developed a solar powered campus parking spot app that students and staff can download on their phone to find open parking spots. The locator uses solar-powered cameras and computers to provide real-time data to campus users. Students won the first Campus Solar Challenge at Colorado School of Mines. According to the LiveLot team, the project “will save approximately 84 tons of CO2 per year by eliminating the need to circle campus parking lots searching for a spot.”
