The University previously distributed the Green Dream Team to support extra-curricular activities of student researchers and student research teams related to environmental and sustainable fields. This includes qualified and exemplary students pursuing research, internships, or other opportunities for growth that focus on sustainability and global health and development.
Funding for student sustainability research was then moved to the new Student Sustainability Center in the School of Global Environmental Sustainability and dispersed as the Green Fund.

A brief description of the institution’s program(s) to encourage faculty research in sustainability:
The SuperClusters is a CSU innovative strategy to incentivize research in three key areas; clean energy, infectious disease, and cancer. A Supercluster is a multidisciplinary alliance that integrates experts from many fields with the goal of improving quality of life - by taking research innovations to the global marketplace more efficiently and at an accelerated pace.
The program offers financial, administrative, and legal support for research in those areas - with a special emphasis on research that contributes to a healthier - more sustainable - environment.
The University also offers Global Challenges Research Team Grants and Fellowships through the School of Global Environmental Sustainability. SoGES, funds research projects that are interdisciplinary in nature, involving faculty members and researchers from across colleges. These projects focus on at least two of the school’s research focal areas including climate change and energy; food security; environmental institutions and governance; land and water resources; sustainable communities; and biodiversity, conservation and management. http://www.news.colostate.edu/Release/5774
