Green Cleaning

A brief description of how green cleaning is incorporated into cleaning contracts:
CSU has enacted a comprehensive green purchasing policy that encourages the purchase of cleaning products which minimize environmental impact. In addition to the Green Seal or EcoLogo certified products we purchase, we also utilize products like H2Orange2 that is EPA certified and also supportive of a green cleaning program. We have standardized trash recepticles and utilize best fit trash bags to ensure the minimum amount of plastic is used. We are also testing trash bags that are made with resin that is certified 100% post-consumer recycled. We are also using E-cloths at Laurel Village, Braiden Hall, and Summit Hall that successfully disinfect without the use of chemicals, only water. We will expand the use of the E-cloths to other areas as funding permits.

CSU has an Energy Team that monitors building performance and prioritizes projects . Twice per year, buildings are ranked by EUI. Efficiency measures and retrocommisioning efforts are then prioritzed based on this data. Efficientcy projects are funded through a revolving fund.
