A brief description of the certificate program(s):
Non-credit courses from CSU Online can be bundled to earn a Mastery Badge or Certificate upon completion of all courses within a program (the badge program has replaced some previous certificate programs). A sample of sustainability-related programs include:

Understanding Climate Change:
This six-course program from Colorado State University is designed to expand your understanding of climate change in an easy-to-follow, online format. Learn from home and on your schedule to gain new knowledge. This program is also an excellent option for K-12 teachers and other educators who want to expand their understanding of climate change in order to pass this knowledge on to students. Courses cover topics including: the basics of climate change, the water cycle, impacts to agriculture, and climate change myths.

Land Stewardship:
Those who own, live on, and manage small-acreage properties are responsible for a variety of natural resources, including soil, water, air, plants, and animals (SWAPA). It is important to manage these resources sustainably to ensure the land remains healthy for crop and animal production, ecological diversity, and preservation for future generations. The Land Stewardship program offers online training to help you understand the fundamentals of sustainable land and resource management.

Sustainable Community Development Certificate:
Enhance your ability to empower people through sustainable community development with this customizable online certificate program. Learn through case studies, exercises, and group discussions. Share experiences with fellow community development practitioners from around the globe.

Certified Gardener:
While the program is based on content similar to a traditional master gardener program, online courses give you more flexibility to learn only what you want to learn, on your own schedule. You have the option to take courses individually, register for a “bundle” of courses on related topics, or complete the full program and earn a mastery badge. No matter if you are a backyard gardener, interested in learning more about landscaping, pruning, and home composting, or are a green industry professional, these online gardening classes can be tailored to help you meet your goals.

Living Mindfully:
This program includes seven courses. After completing all seven courses, which include Creating Mindful Habits, Emotional Resilience, Widening our Circles of Compassion, and Rewiring our Brains, you will receive a Mastery Badge to represent your new credentials.
