Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
As a public state institution, Colorado State University has investments with both the Colorado State Treasury Department and the CSU Foundation.
The Colorado Treasury Department is responsible for investing most of the state's cash and managing the related investments. Currently, the Department manages more than $18 billion in more than 750 funds. For efficiency and in order to increase investment yield, most of the monies from the General Fund, state agencies, and political subdivisions of the state are pooled for investment purposes (this includes Colorado State University). Some funds are managed separately under distinct investment policies. A detailed listing of the investments held by the State Treasury is included in the PDF loaded here and can be viewed publicly under Treasury Pool Detail at: https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/treasury/investment-portfolio
The CSU Foundation makes an Investment Holdings Snapshot that includes asset allocations publicly available at https://foundation.colostate.edu/public-information/ (select CSUF Investment Holdings).
The figures here are intentionally different from the figures reported in PA10 as this is a big picture snapshot of all holdings whereas PA10, per the STARS manual, reflects "The predominant asset pool or grouping of assets that is organized primarily to support the institution and reflect its investment policies."
