A brief description of steps taken to ensure that e-waste is recycled responsibly, workers’ basic safety is protected, and environmental standards are met:
Concordia has a contract for electronic waste recycling with a company that provides certification that the materials are in fact sent for recycling after sorting. A bill is provided with the quantity of each type of material (for example, CRT monitors, keyboards, desktop computers, etc.) so that Concordia can track specifically how much of each item is recycled. The university's offices are provided with informational posters that describe what items are accepted for electronic recycling (although these posters need to be redistributed, since it has been a number of years since they were last handed out).

The university accepts electronic waste from students as well, although this has not been advertised yet. A clear drop-off location will need to be organized for that component of the education to be launched.
