Two roofs at Concordia are already vegetated, including the CJ and MB buildings. The university has also undertaken an engineering survey of additional roofs at the Loyola campus to see about creating more green spaces.

In 2011, Facilities Operations participated with Action Communiterre to vegetate the CJ roof. Approximately 300 kg of fruits and vegetables were donated to the N.D.G. food bank. The MB roof is also vegetated.

Rain collectors are installed at the Loyola campus along new side walk around the Genomic center. The rain collectors are used to water grass or plants, depending where they are located.
