The IPM plan was developed to formalize the practices that currently take place on campus. The IPM plan can also be found on the staff website of Facilities Management (employee only access).

Any pest sightings are reported to Facilities Management. Facilities Management also monitors for pests. If a problem occurs and the situation is not deemed as an emergency then natural and benign methods will be used by Custodial Services such as water, baking soda, soap and vinegar.

If the situation is deemed as an emergency then chemical pesticides may be used by the exterminator. Prior to pesticide application the exterminator is responsible for providing a list of the products that will be used to the IPM Coordinator.

The IPM Coordinator will inform the Health and Safety Manager about the situation in order for a safety assessment to be conducted.

Alternanther and Santoline plants are used to spell out the Concordia letters in front of the AD building. Flower beds have increasingly been planted with vegetables and herbs such as bell peppers, hot peppers, tomatoes, basil and various other vegetables/herbs. Plants planted on campus. are generally comprised of mixed begonias, marigold Durango tangerine,alyssum wonderland, impatients, solanimus and dracenas plants.

When cleaning the exterior of buildings a low water consumption power washer is used and is done at minimum frequencies. Monitoring of irrigation systems manually or with automated systems is done at least every two weeks during the operating season for appropriate water usage, system times, leaks, or breaks.
