Does the institution have a bicycle-sharing program or participate in a local bicycle-sharing program?:
Yes

A brief description of the bicycle sharing program:
Spokespeople is a student-run group that provides bicycles to students for free. Students can 'rent' a bike from Spokespeople at the beginning of each semester (for a refundable deposit) and keep it until the end of the semester. Spokespeople also provides bike maintenance services to students on campus.

A brief description of the car sharing program:
Connecticut College partners with Lyft to provide students with ride access to the locations in New London and Waterford. Students receive 4 free rides per month up to $12 each that are accessible directly through the Lyft app.

Students can also take advantage of the local "Smart Ride" Service through the Southeast Area Transit District for free. This on-demand bus service allows students to request and schedule rides from the center of campus as needed instead of walking to a bus stop and waiting for scheduled service.

A brief description of the electric vehicle recharging stations:
There are four Level 2 ChargePoint dual chargers installed on campus for a total of eight charging stations. One charging station is located at the north end of our campus, two are located near the main entrance and our performing arts venue, and the final station is located in the Admissions Office visitor parking lot to serve campus visitors. Charging is free through June 2024.

A brief description of the incentives or programs to encourage employees to live close to campus:
The College owns and maintains a number of houses and apartments located close to or on campus that are available for rent by both staff and faculty. The College has exclusively offered staff and faculty the opportunity to purchase college-owned houses adjacent to campus.

Yes

A brief description of other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting:
Students, faculty and staff can ride for free on our local public bus system and the College worked with the city to add a public bus stop at one of the main campus entrances. In addition, the Community Engagement office also provides shuttle vans to local community engagement sites that are not on the bus route. Flyer showing how to sign up for the free bus rides and shuttle service is attached below.
