A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome :
Cornell Procurement Services has enlisted MBA students from the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management to consult with local businesses as part of the University's Toward New Destinations initiative. Through this initiative, Procurement is working to help Cornell's departments spend more with suppliers and businesses owned by women, minorities, and veterans. The MBA students working on this initiative created a firm called BRC (originally Big Red Consulting) and have seen many of their recommendations implemented. The program is now in its second year.
