Farm Tractor gets clean, green biodiesel makeover
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
In early 2020, members of the Engineers for a Sustainable World group converted a tractor owned by Cornell Farms Services to run on a soy-based biofuel instead of traditional diesel. The tractor is used to process the University’s compost and to support agricultural research. This is one step towards the University’s goal of being carbon neutral by 2035.
