The Coronavirus pandemic and the resulting economic turmoil have left more and more members of the community looking for help feeding themselves and their families. This year, a new partnership of Cornell University, the Greater Ithaca Activities Center, and the Food Bank of the Southern Tier launched a new food pantry offering free food to those in need every Tuesday and Thursday. Cornell opened a new food pantry on campus last fall, and the school has committed to keeping that open through the semester despite the decision to cancel in-person classes and send most students home.
