A brief description of the institution’s green event certification program:
Designed for events large and small, the Sustainable Event Program supports low-impact event planning at Cornell. The guide includes a local catering list, ways to promote events sustainably, set up rooms, reduce waste by rethinking signage and giveaways.

There are two levels of certification available. Complete five or more actions from the event guide and receive a Sustainable Event Certification or go above and beyond with ten or more actions and receive a Platinum Event Certification. This certification is to be displayed at the event to help showcase the sustainability features and promote other events on campus to be sustainable.
