Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
GreenLight Connect Initiative
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Dallas College is the first college in Texas to partner with GreenLight Connect, Dallas ISD and University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) to help students in need to obtain broad and equal access to existing community resources during and after their education career.
GreenLight provides a block chain platform to the Texas College Bridge, a collaboration of the Texas Education Agency, Texas Impact Network, The Commit Partnership, and higher education institutions of Texas. GreenLight provides students a secure platform to share their learning goals and achievements with education institutions, peers, scholarship donors, and employers. Students use GreenLight to share their certificates, degrees, recommendation letters, skills badges, immunization records, and other academic information types.
The blockchain technology allows for the information to be 100% electronic and secure, eliminating paper usage, postage stamps, and other previous methods uses by students to share secure student information for learning achievement goals.
Dallas College and GreenLight co-host virtual job fairs on the GreenLight platform, allowing students to apply for a job and submit their application materials in one event on one platform. https://www.glcredentials.com/dc-jobs
