Dickinson submitted two case studies to the AASHE HUB in 2017 to be considered for the AASHE sustainability awards. -The New Eco-Rep Model: Unifying Campus Audiences in Co-Curricular Sustainability Programming -The Nitrogen Footprint Tool Network: A Multi-Institution Program to Research and Reduce Nitrogen Pollution The later won the 2017 AASHE Research Award.

A list or brief description of the board or committee appointment(s):
In 2017, Dickinson took the 3 year chair appointment for the overall coordination of the EcoLeague Consortium. Current member and past president of Executive Committee of Pennsylvania Environmental Resource Consortium, an association of 50 PA colleges and universities. Founder of the Greater Carlisle Project and chair of the the Steering Committee of the Greater Carlisle Project (GCP). The GCP is an association of community organizations, churches, businesses, government agencies and individuals working to make Greater Carlisle a move livable and sustainable community. Current board member of the USGBC Central Pennsylvania Chapter.

Does the institution have an ongoing mentoring relationship with another institution through which it assists the institution with its sustainability reporting and/or the development of its sustainability program?:
Yes

A brief description of the mentoring relationship and activities:
Dickinson was selected as a regional Center for Sustainability Across the Curriculum. Faculty from other colleges and universities are invited to participate in Dickinson's curriculum development workshop, Valley & Ridge. Participants will be supported in integrating sustainability into the curricula of their home institutions. This program was launched in 2017 and allowed Dickinson to partner and mentor faculty and staff from eight other regional institutions. The EcoLeague network is a formal demonstration of this relationship among the six member institutions. Dickinson currently serves as the overall coordinator.

Yes

A brief description of the peer review activities:
Dickinson has participated in the formal external reviews of Macalaster College's Environmental Studies Department, Bucknell University's Center for Sustainability and the Environment and Allegheny College's Environmental Studies department. These review included analysis of sustainability course inventory's, as well as other sustainability research and support data. Additionally, Dickinson has consulted with the University of Richmond, Messiah College and Cornell University's Office's of Sustainability on an informal basis,

Has the institution participated in other collaborative efforts around sustainability during the previous year, e.g. joint planning or resource sharing with other institutions? :
Yes

A brief description of other collaborative efforts around sustainability during the previous year:
Dickinson chaired the planning committee for the PA Power Dialog, a conference that brought together state officials and 230 students and faculty from 16 PA colleges and universities in April 2016 for dialog about the Clean Power Plan. Most of the conference presenters were students. Dickinson is a member of the planning committee of the Safe Climate PA conference that will bring together state officials, students and faculty from across the state in April 2017 for dialog about climate change and carbon pricing. Dickinson is working with Swarthmore, Wesleyan, Pitzer, Our Climate and Citizens' Climate Lobby to lead a national campaign that is asking colleges and universities to endorse carbon pricing. Dickinson and Messiah College hosted an intern exchange in 2017-18 that allowed representatives from each institution to visit each other's campus, tour programs and meet with student interns.
