Douglas College Sustainability and Climate Steering Committee
It is the Sustainability and Climate Steering Committee’s responsibility to: Design and implement a climate action strategy that commits to reducing carbon emissions, energy usage and waste, and enhances Douglas College’s capacity to adapt to a changing climate.

The Douglas College Sustainability and Climate Steering Committee coordinates sustainability for the entire institutions, and supports various sustainability projects and efforts across campus.
Recent accomplishments include:
- the implementation of a sustainable procurement policy for the College
- support of the initiation of the College's “Green Team”, which is an employee volunteer group that identifies and participates in community activities related to social issues (environmental sustainability, human rights, social awareness, etc) to increase awareness and solidify its reputation as a caring community partner.
- support and initiate the undertaking of the College's inaugural STARS certification program
- support and initiate the undertaking of the College's climate action strategy
