A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):
All entering students are provided reusable water bottles upon arriving to campus and are told to use them instead of plastic water bottles. Additionally, students that are entering the Environmental Studies/Science undergraduate and graduate programs learn about their courses which include sustainability on campus. This year, we met with the orientation office and plan to include fact sheets about sustainability on campus in the orientation folders (will be given to all entering freshman and transfer students). Additionally, the Center for Environmental Research and Education will have its own table during orientation where students can come to learn more information about sustainability on campus and ways to get involved.
