Duquesne University has two committees: The Facilities Management Sustainability Committee and the University Academic Sustainability Committee. The Facilities Management Sustainability Committee focuses on institutional changes to enhance sustainability on campus such as installing efficient fixtures and increasing waste diversion. The mission of the University Academic Sustainability Committee (UASC) is to collaboratively advocate for the incorporation of the principles of sustainable development and sustainability into the academic and the Institute for Energy and Environment which cultivates a discussion of local, national and global interests and research in energy and environmental issues, from the perspectives of: Policy, Economics, Technology, and Law.
