1. TERRA Learning Community meets regularly with Facilities representatives regarding campus operation and sustainability. This team also conducts an annual sustainable campus scavenger hunt.
2. Students in the Biomedical Engineering program are collecting campus plastic waste to be remade into splints, braces, and other medical devices.

1. Every year, Duquesne University hosts Community Engagement Scholars, students who work with local non-profit organizations to further their missions as well as to aid students' academic growth.
2. TERRA Learning Community meets regularly with Grounded Strategies regarding their public & community initiatives. TERRA Learning Community also partners with residents to reclaim abandoned lots.

1. Duquesne is the first university in western Pennsylvania and one of only a few in the state to conduct biennial Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventories on the University's carbon footprint. The University has played a leading role in moving other schools in the region to undertake similar studies and to direct the region as a whole toward environmental stewardship. This survey is conducted by graduate students in the University's Center for Environmental Research and Education. This report is published on the University website for the campus and outside communities.
2. Additionally, Duquesne University has a live dashboard in the academic building, Rockwell Hall, measuring and reporting CO2 emissions, energy consumption, and indoor air quality as part of efforts to use the building as a living laboratory.
