Starting in 2019, Duquesne University's main dining hall, Hogan Dining Center was awarded a Gold Certification by the Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant program which includes a focus on waste reduction, water conservation, energy efficiency, community action, employee action, responsible sourcing, and nutrition. The Sustainable Pittsburgh Restaurant Certification Program relies on self-reporting that is verified by a member of Sustainable Pittsburgh.
