Sustainability has been incorporated into residence through our bi-annual Thrift Swap event, which is in partnership with UOIT and our Residence LIfe Managers. The event is hosted for 2 weeks at the end of each semester and brings campus recycling programs into the residence context.
Every residence also hosts a battery recycling bin and students have a meal card and are encouraged to eat on campus instead of producing food waste in their dorm rooms.

Sustainability has been a popular theme covered by our campus reporters throughout the past few years. The Sustainability Office has constant requests for interviews, etc. Although the Campus Chronicle does not have a specific Sustainability column, every semester a new student is given this portfolio to highlight.
