Sustainability has been a popular theme covered by our campus reporters throughout the past few years. The Sustainability Office has constant requests for interviews, etc. Although the Campus Chronicle does not have a specific Sustainability column, every semester a new student is given this portfolio to highlight. Building Signage can be found around our co-mingle bins as well as at our Whitby campus, highlighting recycling programs and the Green building features of our Whitby site - Solar, Wind, Geothermal, waterless urinals, passive solar lighting, etc.
Our CfCE building includes signage on LEED Gold certification and our Energy and Innovation Centre also includes digital signage about Geothermal energy performance

Green Living Guide

A brief description of the guide for green living and incorporating sustainability into the residential experience:
Sustainability has been incorporated into residence through our bi-annual Thrift Swap event, which is in partnership with Ontario Tech University and our Residence Life team. The event is hosted for 2 weeks at the end of each semester and brings campus recycling programs into the residence context.
Every residence also hosts a battery recycling bin and students have a meal card and are encouraged to eat on campus instead of producing food waste in their dorm rooms.
