A brief description of the institution's green laboratory program:
We have started a Shut the Sash Campaign, which includes decommissioning fume hoods that are not regularly used as well as placing stickers (purchased from U.C. Davis) that guide lab users on appropriate height of sash opening depending on what kind of tests are being conducted. The campaign involves direct contact with student, staff, and faculty lab users as well as a walk-through inspection of building laboratory space. In addition to discussing energy efficiency and conservation, we also provide information to lab users about green purchasing guidelines and recycling services that pertain to their facilities.
