A brief description of the institution’s efforts to support alternative fuel and power technology in its motorized fleet:
ECU Transit has been replacing diesel powered buses with CNG powered buses as the older ones reach the end of their useful life. ECU Transit was also awarded a VW Settlement Fund grant to purchase 2 electric buses and the charging infrastructure required. ECU Sustainability Manager was awarded a VW Settlement Fund grant to purchase 3 Level 2 dual-port EV Charging Stations. We now have 9 total dual-port Level 2 chargers that can charge 18 ve3hicles at a time and 36 vehicles in a day.
