The Sub-Committee on Sustainable Development (SCSD) reports to the Board of Studies, an important governance body at ÉTS. The mandate of the SCSD is to promote the integration of SD principles into all actions and activities of ÉTS. Its mandate covers the four pillars
of the ÉTS SD Action Plan, namely:
PILLAR 1 - EDUCATION: To become a major player in the development of sustainable engineering skills.
PILLAR 2 - RESEARCH: Stimulate research and innovation in sustainable engineering.
PILLAR 3 - COMMUNITIES: Provide an eco-responsible, stimulating and friendly living environment and make a significant difference in our communities
PILLAR 4 - OPERATIONS: To become a benchmark of responsibility in our operations and procurement.

In fulfilling its mandate, the SCDD is responsible for:
1. Communicating and promoting the principles of SD to the entire ÉTS community.
2. Encouraging and supporting the development of SD-compliant activities within ÉTS in each of the pillars.
3. Highlighting the SD achievements of ÉTS students, professors and employees through all available media.
4. Ensuring the implementation of the ÉTS SD Action Plan and propose a new SD policy.
5. Reporting to the EC regularly and at least annually.

A brief description of each sustainability office:
The Sustainable Development Team, which includes the ÉTS SD Officer, coordinates the SD process at ÉTS. It accompanies the implementation and follow-up of the action plan as well as the
activities of the SCDD.
The Sustainable Development Team animates the SD ecosystem in the ÉTS community in collaboration with various partners (Directions and Services, Tributerre, Fonds de développement durable de l'Association étudiante (FDDAÉTS), Fonds de recherche ÉTS sur les changements climatiques, etc.). It coordinates several working committees and accompanies internal partners (students, teachers, researchers, research entities, employees, managers) and external partners (Coop, Resto-Pub 100 génies, food services, etc.) in their activities.
The Sustainable Development Team contributes to the outreach of the ÉTS community's actions in the field of SD through internal and external communication as well as external partnerships and representation activities.
A member of the Sustainable Development Team sits on the management committee of the FDDAÉTS in collaboration with the SD Officer of the AÉÉTS.

Here is the description of the specific tasks of the Sustainable Development Communication Advisor:

- Designs, coordinates and implements communication plans for the various projects related to sustainable development at ÉTS, particularly for the new 2020-2022 Action Plan, the new seal and the overall approach.
- Collaborates in the drafting and implementation of a communication plan for the new waste management plan.
- Writes, revises and organizes the sustainable development content of the ÉTS website.
- Writes content such as news, press releases and social media posts.
- Evaluates the current communication tools (guide to eco-responsible events, guide to responsible procurement, etc.) in sustainable development, updates them and suggests improvements.
- Develops and implements awareness campaigns on sustainable development issues.
- Participates in the creation and management of events with the sustainable development advisor and the ÉTS events management.
- Liaises with the Communications Department to validate the sustainable development communications strategy, develops and proposes content for the various platforms and collaborates on various joint projects.
- May be required to collaborate on communications related to the actions of the Sustainable Development Fund of the ÉTS Student Association (FDDAÉTS).
