A brief description of the trans-fats avoidance program, policy, or practice:
Elon Dining Services maintains participation in a countrywide initiative using zero trans fat fryer oil in all of its dining locations on campus since the 2005-2006 academic year. This is in response to research, conducted by Aramark, Elon University's dining services provider, that shows consumers are more concerned than ever with their intake of trans fats. All used fryer oil is recycled: 1,372 gallons were recycled during the 2012-2013 academic year.
