A brief description of how the literacy assessment was developed and/or when it was adopted:
The Sustainability Literacy Assessment was developed in partnership with the sustainability coordinator, the campus sustainability committee, the dean of students, and the associated student body. The assessment will be sent out for the first time in Spring 2018 and repeated again in Fall 2018. We plan to transition to an 'entrance' exam for first years and an 'exit' exam for fourth years.

A brief description of how a representative sample was reached (if applicable) and how the assessment(s) were administered :
The entire student population will be emailed the assessment by the dean of students and the sustainability committee will provide a forum for completing the assessment in the dining hall. Additionally, one class in each major degree will be targeted to compete the assessment. The assessment will be available online.
