A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):
Staff and faculty are encouraged to practice green commuting during new employee orientation. Initiatives discussed are the bike room, a carpool finder tool, and bike rental services.
New employees are also informed that we have banned the sale of plastic water bottles of campus and that we practice single stream recycling during the orientation.
New staff are invited to participate on the Green Team and informed to email greenteam@emerson.edu.
New faculty are provided with a green guide in their welcome packet during orientation.
Both staff and faculty are encouraged to get in touch with the Sustainability Coordinator for donating leftover catering during their respective orientation trainings.
