Interior Architecture (MA)

A brief description of the graduate-level degree program:
The Master of Arts in Interior Architecture degree program creates specialists who would like to pursue interior design for commercial and institutional, healthcare, residential, or sustainable interior environments. Students gain expertise in sustainable design for residential, commercial, and healthcare environments. Learn from faculty and staff who personally support students at every step, providing added value to this competitively priced program.

The challenging curriculum is unique as it allows students with two options, a, 87-credit program for first-professionals and a 37-credit post-professional program for students with an undergraduate degree in interior design/architecture. Students will strengthen skills in critical thinking, design mastery, evidence-based research, and visual and oral communication. The program develops student proficiencies through both individual and team based learning, within an "atelier" design studio setting to acquire advanced expertise for ID practice.

The Master of Arts in Interior Architecture program model integrates theory and practice through required coursework in interior design firm management and graduate student forums reinforcing the primary College mission of integrating professional and liberal arts with experiential learning.

A brief description of the graduate degree program (2nd program):
Designed for working professionals, the Endicott College Experienced Professional MBA program makes it possible for students to further their education while managing work and life responsibilities.

In addition to a 24-credit core curriculum, students must complete four three-credit courses (for a total of 12 credits) in an area of concentration. Concentrations that directly pertain to topics of sustainability include Construction Project Management, Maritime Economics, Public Administration, and Sustainability & Environmental Social Governance. Additionally, students must complete two three-credit elective courses (for a total of 6 credits). Students have the opportunity to take courses outside of their concentration that directly pertain to topics of sustainability.

This certificate program focuses on construction project management tools and techniques, building systems and integrated designs, emerging materials and systems, project scheduling, scheduling tools and techniques, and construction estimating. Courses such as Building Systems & Integrated Design and Emerging Materials & Systems focus on the use of environmentally preferred construction inputs, third-party sustainable construction certifications, and the use of renewable energy.

This 15-credit certificate program is designed to assist in addressing teacher identities, support social justice in the classroom, and understand how marginalized groups have been adversely affected by school policy.

Teachers encounter a variety of students each day; in order to support and engage students, teachers should understand how to foster a culture where students are represented in fair and equitable ways.
