Part 1. Greenhouse gas emissions inventory
Yes
A copy of the most recent GHG emissions inventory:
A brief description of the methodology and/or tool used to complete the GHG emissions inventory:
GHG emissions calculations were performed using the Washington State Department of Ecology GHG Emissions Calculator. (https://ecology.wa.gov/Asset-Collections/Doc-Assets/Climate-change/Tracking-carbon-pollution/2023-State-Agency-GHG-Calculator)
For Scope 2 emissions, Evergreen purchases Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) that account for all electricity consumed (minus small in-house solar generation) on both its Olympia and Tacoma campuses. The college's Scope 2 emissions are therefore considered to be 0 MT CO2e.

Has the GHG emissions inventory been validated internally by personnel who are independent of the GHG accounting and reporting process and/or verified by an independent, external third party?:
No

Do the air pollutant emissions figures provided include the following sources?:
Yes or No | |
Major stationary sources | Yes |
Area sources | No |
Mobile sources | No |

Off-site electricity production | No |
None
A brief description of the methodology(ies) the institution used to complete its air emissions inventory:
Air pollutant emissions were calculated from Evergreen's annual air quality compliance report filed with ORCAA (Olympic Region Clean Air Agency), based on standard emissions for natural gas boilers. Only the first four listed pollutants (Nitrogen oxides, Sulfur oxides, Carbon monoxide, and Particulate matter) are included in the calculations. All other pollutant categories were not tracked.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Evergreen is not required by our regional clean air agency to monitor or restrict point-source emissions on campus, so that activity is not occurring. The College does however have approximately 700 acres of unmanaged forest surrounding the campus core, which provides for clean outdoor air.
