The Office of Multicultural Affairs periodically assesses campus diversity and attitudes towards diversity amongst the Furman students, staff, and faculty. The Assessment is presented through a graphical analysis that depicts attitudes and perceptions toward diversity according to repsondants' race, ethinicity, and gender.

A brief description of how the results of the assessment(s) are used in shaping policy, programs, and initiatives:
The results from the diversity survey are openly presented to students, staff, and faculty. The Office of Multicultural Affairs uses the data from the diversity survey to formulate recommendations to promote diversity and publishes these recommendations on their website and delivers them to applicable parties (i.e., a recommendation about recruiting a more diverse student body is delivered the Admissions Office).
