A brief description of the sustainable food and beverage purchasing program:
Aramark, Furman’s food service provider, buys several local products for use in various dining locations on campus. All milk is hormone free and comes from a PET dairy in Spartanburg, SC (about 40 miles away). Aramark currently purchases local produce from Fresh Point, a vendor in Charlotte who in turn buys from local farmers. The purchase of sustainable food and beverage items is a top priority for Aramark at Furman. Wherever feasible, we make more sustainable choices and are constantly seeking additional opportunities in our region to purchase additional sustainable items.
