The mission of the Furman University Wellness Program is to provide environmental, social, and individual support to encourage the Furman community to engage in healthy lifestyles that promote optimal well-being. The Wellness Committee offers many wellness opportunities and programs for employees – see the website and blog for more information.

100% of Furman University employees are served by the Wellness Committee program and its endeavors to encourage environmental and physical health on and off Furman's campus.

FRAT (Faculty Recruitment, Advancement, and Tenure)

A brief description of the employee educators program (2nd program):
FRAT is a subcommittee of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Chaired by faculty members. FRAT Hiring Workshops take a Power Point Presentation developed by the FRAT sub-committee to all departments involved in a job search. The presentation seeks primarily to do three things: alert departments of the university’s commitment to hiring and retaining a diverse faculty; help departments plan a strategy for creating a diverse pool of applicants with the aim of thereby improving our chances to retain a diverse faculty; and advise departments on how to navigate difficulties with making final decisions in connection with the university’s diversity goals.

A brief description of the employee educators program’s target audience (2nd program):
The FRAT committee program very specifically targets members of the Furman University faculty with its implicit bias training, but has plans to produce an amended version of their program for general staff.
