A free four-week course for employees on mindfulness and meditation led by Min-Ken Liao and Meghan Slining. In this course, we explore different mindfulness techniques, discuss personal practice experiences, and enjoy each other’s mindful presence.
The Shi Institute class ran a Department Assistant appreciation event and included information about the Green Office program, eco-feature on the Staples website, and other ways to encourage working sustainably within their departments.
Faculty member, Courtney Quinn, also runs a leadership development training program for faculty and staff.

Furman regularly pays for staff to attend conferences and workshops that support sustainability, including AASHE, the Southeast Energy Summit, ReFrame, Campus Compact, and the Carolina Farm Stewardship Council conference.
