A brief description of the student group:
George Mason University (Mason) has several student organizations which focus on sustainability issues and others which relate to sustainability. The newest, launched during Earth Week 2011, is the Sustainability Society. It's designed to encourage the following: (1) student initiatives for campus and local community-level sustainability projects; (2) opportunities for students to realize, advance and apply their education in sustainability toward projects that will enhance and green the Mason community; (3) partnerships between faculty, staff, students, and the community.
