While commuters cannot cash out of parking spaces, at George Mason University, those that carpool or use alternative methods of transportation can receive 2 free daily parking permits per month, which is worth approximately $14. Full time employees commuting to work on public transportation can also request up to $230 per month from the State of Virgina to cover commuting costs.
