George Mason University's (Mason) President Merten has signed the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment committing Mason to achieving climate neutrality. Secondly, President Merten signed a call for public debate "in which the US presidential candiates share their views on the issues of the environment, health and medicine, and science and technology policy." Lastly, President Merten also signed several letters to Congress to enact the Higher Education Sustainability Act.
