Patriot Pack Out 2017
A brief description of the campaign, including how students and/or employees were engaged (2nd campaign):
Patriot Pack Out (PPO) was first implemented in 2007, and has actively engaged students, faculty, and staff on campus for 10 years. During PPO, students moving out of the residence halls donate clothing, small appliances, and non-perishable food items to assist others in the university and local communities. This program diverts thousands of pounds of waste and allows for re-use of items to the benefit of those less fortunate. PPO requires a large amount of volunteers, and many Mason students and staff have assisted in collecting and organizing donations over the years.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):
In 2017, Patriot Pack Out collected almost 15,000 pounds of goods to donate. These items were donated to the local Goodwill and Food for Others, a local food bank.
