A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome :
The Fair Share Project is a continuation of Gettysburg College’s Campus Kitchens Program and the regional food policy network. It is the first program of its type in Pennsylvania and enables 25 local families to purchase food from the Adams County Farm Fresh Markets from June-September. The recipients of these food vouchers are required to attend a monthly event at the local farmer’s market, as well as participating in a educational activities at the farmer’s market. This program is funded by four local farms and community fundraising.
The Fair Share Program aims to enable families to purchase healthy and fresh foods, support the local farms in agriculturally rich Adams County, as well as educate families about nutrition and agriculture.
