A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:
Gettysburg College offers a number for programs to open up campus dialogue on issues of diversity. Most notably, ERACE is a weekly open forum where students come together to discuss race and understand white privilege. Members of the Allies club have also periodically partnered with Residence Life to offer Safe Zone Trainings. Additionally, all first years participate in various sessions and talks on diversity during FYE (First Year Experience). Although the diversity climate on campus is still a work in progress, it is improving every year.
