The Hope College Sustainability Advisory Group (Green Team) goals that were met from the 2015-2016 academic year were: -Support the Eco-Agent program and develop other programs and/or groups that promote sustainability among students, e.g., Environmental Issues Group. -Secure greater involvement from Campus Ministries, e.g., by having a member of the CM staff serve on the Green Team. -Implement the environmental dashboard technology into courses and infrastructure at the College and explore its use with the City and the HBPW. -Execute building audits of energy use, water use, production of waste, etc. across campus. -Support the Sustainability Institute and improve the integration of its work with that of the College, e.g., by facilitating its development as a research center for best practices in sustainability. -Explore a campus/community garden. -Reconstitute the Schaap Science Center Sustainability Committee. During the summer of 2016 the Hope Green Team hired four students to conduct research on campus about sustainability. There was a student for each of the topics which include: energy, water, a campus garden, and the history of sustainability at Hope. This project was a big success and the group is looking to continue and possibly expand it in the future. In 2014 Hope College also partnered with the City of Holland and Holland Board of Public Works to create the Holland-Hope College Sustainability Institute.
