In addition, HSU submitted two proposals to the CSU Facilities Management Conference in 2016. The event had an overall conference title "Building a Sustainable Future: Adapt, Lead, Transform". The submitted projects were entitled "Power Down HSU" and "Community Solutions to Food Waste Diversion: HSU’s BiobiN to Worm Farm Program."

1. CSU Waste Officers Conference Call- Sustainability & Waste Officers from within the CSU system collaborate on a monthly conference call to discuss waste, recycling, and composting issues.
2. CSU AASHE STARS Support Group- Sustainability Officers from within the CSU collaborate on a conference call every two months to discuss challenges, experiences, and best practices related to AASHE STARS reporting.
