Through the design review process of all new construction and renovation. scopes of work requiring a building permit (as established in California Building code) will be developed and /or reviewed by Facilities Management Planning and Design Staff to ensure compliance to minimum building standards as they relate to the building code and other measures of sustainable building design and implementation as adopted by the California state University System and Humboldt State University. In addition, HEIF has had an ongoing set of interns working with Planning and Design staff to selectively create standard materials and processes for selection of sustainable building components.
