Part 1. Measurable sustainability objectives
Academics

The following is a list of some of the objectives in the different academic fields:
CURRICULUM
- By 2022, 50% of the faculty will have introduced a list of SDGs in their syllabi. By 2025, 100% will.
- A concentration specific to Sustainability will be offered in MBA program.
- A specific short focus program (SFP) will be dedicated to Sustainability and ESG matters. It will be offered in 2022 in one campus and in 2023 in two campus and two languages (Spanish and English).We aim to reach top professionals from all over the world to attend this SFP: 25 by 2022, 50 by 2023 and 100 by 2025.
FACULTY
- From 2021 to 2025, we need to increase in at least 10 full-time positions, always ensuring diversity in terms of nationalities, backgrounds and profile.
- We would need to have 15% more female professors in 2022 and 20% in 2023, in order to reach 50% of the total faculty by 2030.
RESEARCH
• By 2023, a system will be established so that all intellectual contributions produced by IESE faculty is tagged with the relevant SDG addressed (if any). This will increase awareness among faculty and will help students and other researchers
• Among the intellectual contributions produced in academic year 2020-2021, 250 will be directly related to SDG, being 60 at least books, chapter books or articles with referred. For 2021-2022: 300 and 65 respectively. For 2022-2023: 320 and 70, respectively. Always keeping over 30% of refereed articles published in A+ journals, 25% in A journals, 55% in Q1 and 15% in Q2.
Engagement

The following is a list of some of the objectives in the different engagement fields:
PARTNERSHIP
- Before 2023: IESE will form an alliance with other Business Schools around sustainability, in order to increase awareness about matters of concern, organize webinar series and host conferences.
- Before 2022: IESE will join efforts through Public-Private Partnership for cities and Cities in Motion Strategies chairs to promote public leadership on sustainability by developing ethically minded public leaders who can bring best-in-class business practices to the public sector. These chairs will foster agreements with local, regional, national and international public institutions to foster concrete solutions around the SDGs. A “motion index” will be created, reviewed and published yearly in order to monitor performance in this specific field.
STAFF
- Staff will be encouraged to learn on sustainability matters through a free access to Coursera learning platform.
- By 2022, we are going to create a specifically dedicated Office to encourage the entire IESE community to work according to the mission and founding principles of IESE. This Office will support the school’s activity regarding diversity and inclusion matters in order to strengthen the fact that our campuses are environments where everybody is welcome.
- By September 2021, all staff members will have a day per week of home office as a trial. This initiative will enable us promoting work-life balance and reducing transportation-related emissions.
STUDENTS AND ALUMNI
· Global Alumni Reunion to be hosted by IESE in 2021 or 2022 as the latest under the theme: “Sustain-abilities” so that IESE advocates the integration of sustainability into all organizational spheres via comprehensive collaboration action.
· IESE will ensure that the charity actions developed through the “IESE cares” program are developed and that their reach and impact increases year by year. IESE will provide all possible support to foster the organization of beneficial concerts, dinners, etc to promote social good among local communities.
CAMPUS:
- Launch 2 environmental awareness campaigns per year.
Operations

We are redoubling our efforts to be as sustainable as possible. To that end, we’ve created a Plan for Environmental Sustainability which covers the years 2021 to 2035. The plan (using 2010 as its baseline year) sets out five goals for the year 2025 and additional targets for the year 2035:
• Zero Green House emissions (Scope 1 & 2)
• 30% improvement in energy efficiency
• 80% renewable energy
• 10% reduction in water consumption
• Zero waste.

Sustainability at IESE is also closely linked to our employees, their health and safety, their wellbeing at work, and their opportunities to grow personally and professionally. We strive to create a workplace that is:
- Inclusive: Through policies related to workplace equality and to teleworking, and official certification as a family-friendly company.
- Healthy: Through multiple health and safety measures, including a campus doctor and annual wellness check-ups for employees.
- Fulfilling: Through professional development plans for both academic and non-academic staff.
GENDER EQUALITY PLAN: IESE’s first Gender Equality Plan, drawn up in 2010, was updated in 2018. Beyond mere regulatory compliance imposed by legislation, IESE Business School acknowledges, as a STRATEGIC GOAL, THE DEVELOPMENT OF WORK RELATIONS BASED ON EQUAL OPPORTUNITY, NON-DISCRIMINATION AND RESPECT FOR DIVERSITY. To meet this objective, it encourages a favorable environment and provides measures for balancing personal and work life, in compliance with current legislation and following best practices. The school has developed a formal, detailed protocol for handling sexual harassment in the workplace.
IESE is certified as a “Family Friendly” organization by “Fundación Másfamilia.”
